A few of my favourite things

Nick Bilbrough shares the story of The Hands Up Project and how this award-winning charity has used English language to build connections between children around the world, all via the platforms we are becoming so familiar with. Through opportunities of remote theatre and presentations, learners develop their interpersonal skills in a truly meaningful way. Nick also shared some examples from five years developing in this field and look at ways in which schools may be involved.

In 2015, Nick Bilbrough founded the award winning charity handsupproject.org, which provides English language learning opportunities for young people, mostly in Palestine, through online conversation, storytelling and drama activities.

Nick is a teacher, teacher-trainer and regular speaker at conferences worldwide. He is the author of two resource books in the Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers series: Dialogue Activities (2007) and Memory Activities for Language Learning (2011) and of other books related to storytelling and drama in language teaching.
